About Functional Occlusion

Functional Occlusion focuses on more than just straightening the teeth. The goal of treatment is to improve the bite so that the teeth, muscles and jaw joints work in harmony. We focus on the details of tooth positions as well as the details of the bite relationship.

Attachments are placed on every tooth, including the second molars. Prior to treatment, a model of the patient’s teeth is placed on an articulator. This instrument gives us a more precise assessment of the bite relationship, which makes treatment planning more accurate.
